Michener Art Museum annouces staff promotions and additions

DOYLESTOWN, PA.- Lisa Tremper Hanover, Director & CEO of the James A. Michener Art Museum recently announced promotions and additions to the professional staff.

Kirsten M. Jensen, Ph.D., who joined the Museum in June 2014, has been promoted to the position of Gerry and Marguerite Lenfest Chief Curator, responsible for the permanent and temporary exhibitions program, permanent collection stewardship and growth, and the evolution of the archives/library component of the department.

Jensen, curator of The Artist in the Garden, The Rodin Legacy and Veils of Color: Juxtapositions and Recent Work by Elizabeth Osborne, is also bringing a fresh perspective to the Museum's permanent collection installations. She is the architect of the successful Pew Center for Arts & Heritage major grant award for the exhibition Charles Sheeler: Fashion, Photography and Sculptural Form, which will open in 2017.

Louise Feder has been promoted to Assistant Curator. Feder began her career at the Michener as an intern in the Library researching artists for the Bucks County Artist Database, and moved into a permanent position in the Advancement department as Membership and Special Events Coordinator. She holds her Master of Arts degree in Art History from Temple University and brings a multifaceted approach to curatorial and publication projects with experience interning and working at a variety of institutions including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Rosenbach Museum and Library and the Arts Council of Princeton among others. She is the curator of the forthcoming exhibition Lloyd Ney: Local Color, based on her extensive scholarship on the artist.

Christine Hensel Triantos has been named Associate Director of Marketing & Communications. She comes to the Museum with more than twenty-five years of experience in communications, marketing and public relations, and has worked with organizations such as The Mount in Lenox, MA, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, among others. She holds a MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins and a BS in Mass Communications and Public Relations from Boston University. Her efforts will be directed at expanding awareness of the Michener as a leading cultural and educational institution in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.

Molly Dougherty joined the Museum in April as Associate Director of Advancement and is responsible for the Corporate Business Partner Program, the Annual Fund, and other key initiatives in support of the Museum's active exhibition and education programs. Dougherty brings a wealth of experience in non-profit management and fundraising, including a long tenure at the Galleries at Moore College of Art & Design as well as previous positions at Foundation for Self-Taught American Artists and Philadelphia Art Alliance, offering an expanded and dynamic network of support to the Michener.

Jennifer Fekete-Donners joined the Michener as Advancement Operations Administrator in June, and brings with her more than a decade of experience working in museums, universities, and non-profit organizations. Having previously worked in administrative and fundraising roles at both Northwestern University and the Princeton University Art Museum, she brings a keen understanding of donor databases and a rigorous approach to data integrity to the position.
