SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- The Mexican Museum, the premier West Coast museum of Mexican, Mexican-American, Chicano, Latin American and Latino art, culture and heritage, announces the addition of three new members to the Museum’s Board of Trustees.

“Our three new Board members bring exceptional experience in business leadership from across a diverse array of specialties. A noteworthy common factor is their passion to make a difference,” said Andy Kluger, chairman of The Mexican Museum’s Board of Trustees. “I am extremely pleased to have such talented and highly respected people join us as we plan for the expansion of The Mexican Museum, including the construction of our new facility in San Francisco's Yerba Buena Garden Arts District.”

Sergio M. Alcocer, Ph.D.: Dr. Alcocer is a Research Professor at the Institute of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), President of the Academy of Engineering of Mexico, and a distinguished member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He has held numerous leadership and advisory roles, including Undersecretary for North American Affairs in the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Undersecretary for Strategic Planning and Technology Development of the Ministry of Energy of the Mexican Government. Dr. Alcocer is currently a member of the Advisory Committee on Structural Safety of the Mexico City Government and serves as Board president of Iberdrola México, a global energy company and world leader in wind power. A past recipient of the Mexican Society of Structural Engineering Prize on Structural Engineering for Housing, Dr. Alcocer is a Distinguished Engineering Alumni of the Cockrell School of Engineering of the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Ph.D. in Structures.

Salvador Briman: Briman is a global business man, specializing in logistics and transportation, but his passion is philanthropy. His humanitarian work includes his role as an Ambassador for WBC Cares, for which he travels extensively, bringing world-champion athletes to youth centers and hospitals in order to inspire and empower children. During his tenure there, he has been responsible for the education and careers of several athletes who, under his care, went on to become world champions. Briman is also the chief executive officer of his own program, World Champions for Hope, a nonprofit organization that cultivates aspiring artists and athletes. A member of the Board of the Homeland Security Foundation, Briman was recently appointed to the U.S. Congressional Mental Health Task Force, a group dedicated to ending the stigma (#endingthestigma) of mental illness and eradicating teenage suicide. In addition to his own programs, he remains closely involved with other organizations, such as Fight For Children, the Ali Foundation, and Hope for Henry, groups that align with his mission of compassion and giving. Briman holds a degree in accounting from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City.

Jesus Saucedo M.D.: A Board-certified Family Practice physician with 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Saucedo is a leader in Sutter Health, a nonprofit health system in northern California that includes doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare services in more than 100 northern California cities and towns. In addition to his physician duties, Dr. Saucedo is also Executive Vice President of Development, Business Strategy, and Physician Recruitment for a multispecialty medical group of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Mills Peninsula Division (PMC MPD/PAMF) in San Mateo, California.

Under his leadership, PMC MPD/PAMF successfully realized the development of an 11,500-square-foot Urgent Care/Primary Care facility in nearby Daly City. He is currently leading a multi-million dollar business plan to restructure a Primary Care/Multi-Specialty project in the heart of San Mateo County. Dr. Saucedo has extensive medical group leadership experience in medical practice curriculum, credentialing, recruitment, strategic positioning, and the expansion of primary and specialty care. Prior to his current role, he served as PMC MPD/PAMF Chief Medical Officer, where he led the project development of the 7,500-square foot PAMF MPD San Mateo Urgent Care facility.

Dr. Saucedo received his medical doctorate from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, in Los Angeles, and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. Having been raised in an immigrant family with an appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Mexico and Latin America, he understands the need to preserve and promote cultural identity and traditions through art.
