Massive CICF offerings from Heritage, with more than 4,600 lots, offers treasures from across the ages
Broad and Exceptional Christina 4 Ducat. Estimate: $100,000 - $125,000.

DALLAS, TX.- A wide assortment of World and Ancient coins, totaling more than 4,600 lots altogether, will provide the ideal setting for discriminating collectors to significantly enhance their collections in Heritage Auctions' April 14-19, 2016 CICF World Coins & Ancient Coins Signature® Auction, taking place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

"This is an auction that's full of fantastic collector coins," said Cristiano Bierrenbach, Vice President of Heritage Auctions. "We've put it together to feature something for every type of collector, whether you're looking for Latin American rarities, historically significant ancient coins or high grade British proof gold and anything in-between. It will be at our CICF auction event."

A few of the top highlights of the auction include an exceptional 1646 Christina 4 gold Ducat AU53 NGC, Riga mint, a fantastic specimen from the Polish-Swedish War, a sub-conflict of the 30 Years War that was struck during a period in which Sweden gained control of the Polish city of Riga, expected to bring $100,000+, and a supremely rare 1613 Philipp II Klippe 1-1/2 Taler XF45 NGC, Stettin mint, one of just two known examples and another exceptional piece with historic ties to the 30 Years War. It carries a $90,000 pre-auction estimate. A 1646 Geoctroyeede West-Indische Compagnie (GWC) gold 6 Guilders (Florins) MS62 NGC, a classic of Dutch Colonial Brazil, is expected to bring $30,000+.

The top Ancient offerings in the auction feature a magnificent silver Syracuse decadrachm from the time of Dionysius I (405-367 BC), with the reverse die signed by Euainetos, ca. 400 BC (estimate: $45,000+), that was once on display at the E. H. Merrin Gallery in New York City, the most extravagant coin the Greek world had ever seen at the time of it's striking, along with a perfectly centered Tiberius 'Star' Aureus (estimate: $15,000+) and an exceptional Marsic Confederation Denarius from the Social War (91-88 BC), among the finest known specimens of this elusive type (estimate: $6,000+).

"The Heritage CICF auction is also stacked with exceptional collections," said Bierrenbach. "Our featured collections were masterfully assembled by their respective collectors and have been placed in this auction to offer the widest array of collectors possible a chance to upgrade their own holdings."

The Collinson Collection features, among the many coins, an 1886 Victoria gold "Shield" Sovereign AU55 PCGS, Melbourne mint, notable as the key date in the Victoria Sovereign series (estimate: $11,000+), an 1881 Victoria gold "Shield" Sovereign MS63 PCGS, Melbourne mint, the Finest Certified by PCGS (estimate: $8,000+) and a 1920 George V gold Sovereign MS62 PCGS, Melbourne mint, a widely known rarity from the Melbourne mint (estimate: $6,000+).

From The FoxLair Collection Heritage will offer an excessively rare 1868 Republic 8 Reales (1863) Oa-AE MS61 NGC, Oaxaca mint, one of four confirmed examples (estimate: $6,000+), an 1830 Republic 8 Reales Mo-JM MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint, in Gem Brilliant Uncirculated condition (estimate: $5,000+) and an 1823 Republic Hookneck 8 Reales Mo-JM XF40 NGC, Mexico City mint, one of only two certified by either grading service, none of which are in Mint State (estimate: $4,000+).

The Pura Vida Collection returns with Part II of its offerings, featuring an 1848 Republic Type VI Countermarked 4 Reales VF, San Jose mint, an attractive coin with an important pedigree (estimate: $4,000+), an 1843 Central American Republic gold 2 Escudos CR-M AU55 NGC, San Jose mint, the second finest certified example by NGC (estimate: $5,000+) and a 1914 Republic 50 Centimos (P)-GCR MS63 NGC, Philadelphia mint, a highly desirable coin (estimate: $4,000+).

The Richard Woit Collection brings a fine selection of Russian coins to the table, including a superb 1831 Nicholas I platinum 3 Roubles C?? MS61 NGC, St. Petersburg mint (estimate: $2,000+), an 1839 Nicholas I Rouble AU58 NGC, St. Petersburg mint (estimate: $2,500+) and a 1635 Aleksei Mikhailovich Yefimok (Jefimok) VF30 NGC (estimate: $2,000+).
