NEW YORK, NY.- The auctions of Betsy Bloomingdale: A Life in Style, concluding on April 6, 2017, achieved a combined total of $6,471,875, nearly doubling initial estimates and selling 94% by lot.

The Collection of Betsy Bloomingdale was sold across three sales, with a selection of fine jewelry offered in the Magnificent Jewels auction on December 7, 2016, a dedicated auction, Betsy Bloomingdale: A Life in Style on April 5, 2017, and an accompanying online auction from March 30-April 6, 2017. Across the sales series there was active participation with registered bidders coming from 22 countries. There was active online participation via Christie’s LIVE and throughout the online sale, with 100% of the works offered in the Online auction sold.

The top lot offered from the collection was A Diamond Ring by Harry Winston, which sold for $1,927,500 in the December sale of Magnificent Jewels. Leading the dedicated auction, Betsy Bloomingdale: A Life in Style, was A Chinese Doucai Large Jardinere, 18th-19th Century, which realized $295,000 against a high estimate of $25,000.
