MOSCOW, RUSSIAN FEDERATION.- Russian president Vladimir Putin visited the Peter Tchaikovsky museum together with Moscow regional governor Boris Gromov, representatives of the Klin district administration and museum director Galina Belonovich.
Galina Belonovich stated, “We believed that the president, who was inaugurated twice on the day of Tchaikovsky birth anniversary – May 7, will eventually visit our museum.”
The museum includes a park, a library and a personal archive of Tchaikovsky. It is currently under reconstruction with a Moscow regional budget of 28 million rubles. Aguide explained to Putin that the museum had not been repaired in more than 20 years.
Putin stated, “They often say that Russia is a great country. It is great not only because of its natural resources and territory but also because of its people. The diversity of culture is a proof to this country’s grandness. The Russian contribution to world culture makes it grand. I am pleased to see that these wonderful traditions are being developed in the place related to Tchaikovsky.”
