LONDON.- Established in 1963, Messum’s has navigated many strange and difficult times in the art market, but never such an extraordinary situation such as we are all currently facing. With a new gallery opening in St. James’s London, scheduled for 1st April 2020, and with nearly twenty exhibitions planned before the end of 2020, Messum’s is proud to be continuing the exhibition schedule using new and innovative platforms so collectors can continue viewing exhibitons and acquiring artworks from the comfort of their own home.

Over their fifty year history Messum’s has developed a reputation for ‘Bringing Art from our Home to Yours’ and never has it proved to be so important.

° The exhibition of Lucien Hector Monod (1867-1957), available since late March 2020, has produced in excess of £100,000 sales to date.

° Exhibition catalogues for Messum’s next exhibition, sculpture by the enduring Guy Taplin, were dispatched last week to over 1,500 clients and sales are already taking place, ranging as far afield as the USA and Australia.

FILMS: Messum’s Fine Art Channel
Working with our professional film crew, Messum’s is dramatically increasing film production. The most recent film, which went online on 3rd April, features David Messum introducing the Monod exhibition together with key British Impressionist and Newlyn School paintings, direct from the London gallery.

VIRTUAL TOURS: 360° tours of the exhibitions
Using the most up-to-date technology Messum’s are able to open the doors of the new London gallery and Marlow Studio with 360° virtual tours of the exhibitions. Visitors can walk through the exhibition space at their own pace, focussing on individual works of interest.

MESSUM’S ‘IN FOCUS’ Narrated film shorts
A series of narrated film shorts of key paintings in Messum’s collection are sent out regularly via newsletter and social media, many of them with a topical theme and highlighting featured works in the ‘Atelier: Private Collecting’ catalogue.

PRINTED EXHIBITION CATALOGUES
Messum’s continue to accompany each exhibition with a 64 page fully illustrated printed catalogue with introductions by recognised writers and curators. These prestigious catalogues are an important way of communicating with collectors and a great many works are purchased directly upon reciept of the catalogue.

Messum’s publishing is undertaken from the Studio at Lord’s Wood in Marlow, which continues to be fully operational during this time.

PURCHASING ONLINE AT WWW.MESSUMS.COM
Messum’s were one of the first galleries to develop the opportunity to purchase works of art directly through our website and this continues to be an important part of the business. Collectors are able to view high resolution images, enquire and pay directly through the website with Messum’s organinsing a personal delivery service.

ATELIER: PRIVATE COLLECTING
Recently developed at Messum’s Studio, the weekly digital catalogue ‘Atelier: Private Collecting’ is now more important than ever. The publication goes out by email to over 6,000 recipiants and highlights key works from the Artist’s Estates and Contemporary Artists before they are seen in the galleries, presenting an opportunity to acquire works privately and directly from source.

START A COLLECTION
Normally an annual event, Start a Collection is unique in that it aims to introduce first-time buyers to the possibility and pleasure of art collecting at significantly discounted prices, representing exceptional value. Messum’s are offering this unique opportunity via Atelier for the duration of the enforced isolation when collectors have more time to consider their art collections.
