Fifth anniversary of NN Art Award
For the fifth year in a row, the NN Art Award will be presented on Wednesday 3 February. The initiator of the award, NN Group, is an insurance and asset management company (whose portfolio includes Nationale-Nederlanden) with a long history of culture sponsorship. With this award, which has proven to be a true barometer of talent in recent years, NN Group is spotlighting the exceptional quality of the Dutch art academies. The jury of art experts, whose composition changes annually, will be announced in November. The work of the four nominees will be on display at the NN Art Award stand in the exhibition area. The winner will receive an incentive prize of €10,000. Past winners are the Quistrebert (2017) brothers, Pauline Curnier Jardin (2018), Katja Mater (2019) and Ana Navas (2020).

Ana Navas comments, "Receiving the NN Art Award was not only an honour and a means to increase my visibility, but also a tremendous boost for my artistic production. Thanks to this financial support, I was able to expand my study into the legacy of modern art, which led to new works that are on display this year in galleries such as the Sagrada Mercancía in Santiago de Chile and Nest in The Hague."

Els Drummen, curator of the NN Group company collection, explains, "The NN Art Award has proven its worth in recent years, with winners, as well as nominees, who have excelled in the art sector and a new jury of art experts each year. We offer a venue and ensure exposure to a wide audience, both at the art fair and online. Especially in these turbulent times, the urgency to support artists and galleries with our award is tangible. We look forward to next year - and to our fifth anniversary."

For the first time in 2021: NN Art Public Award
The NN Art Public Award will be presented on the final day of the art fair, Sunday 7 February. This is the first time that visitors can cast their vote. The winner of the public award will receive a cash prize of € 5.000,-.
