5 Of The World's Top Casinos with Incredible Art Collection

When we eventually are allowed back out to do our favourite things a visit to a casino is possibly the most glamorous nights out you can have. From glistening slot machines to fine dining restaurants there is much to enjoy about a night in one of your favourite casinos. There is though one attraction that is bringing more and more people to the casino and it is one that you might not expect and that is art. If you happen to be an art connoisseur and an avid gambler then we have the list for you. Just think you can play your favourite casino games and take in some priceless artwork while you do it. Alternatively, in these trying homebound times, you could always try online casinos such as the ones reviewed at CasinoRange while browsing Saachi’s fine art offerings to (poorly) emulate the experience. Read below the five casinos that have some of the world’s most famous artworks.

The Bellagio
This famous casino in the heart of the Las Vegas is known for its opulent almost palace-like architecture and the prestigious hotel accommodation which brings people in from far and wide but it is the gallery which is drawing a lot of visitors as well.

Curators for the Bellagio’s museum regularly collaborate with other museums and art collections from all over the world whilst also showcasing some in-house artwork from international artists and up and comers alike. There was an exhibition this year which focused on Japanese art work and the admission price was only $15.

The famous artist Richard Macdonald has his work on a permanent display in the Bellagio. He is a sculptor who is best known for his bronze statues of animals, models and dancers.

The Palms Casino
Another casino on the Las Vegas strip has an amazing ritzy casino and also houses some fine art as well. The Casino recently went through a $620 million renovation and has been labelled as the strip’s best art museum.

Due to the renovation work, the casino now holds millions of dollars’ worth of artwork on the walls in the fancy cocktail lounge, restaurant and bars as well as other spaces around the casino. You will be able to see original artworks from Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Richard Prince everywhere you go, whether you are playing a hand of poker or enjoying some downtime in the bar.

There is also a bar inspired by the sculpture Unknown, aptly named Unknown bar. The sculpture rendered by Damien Hirst in 1999, is a marble based sculpture featuring a three-piece shark tank with a preserved shark floating within each section of the tank.

Wynn Palace
● Another casino on the strip the Wynn Palace is definitely worth a visit when you go to Las Vegas. There is a great mix of Western and Asian art on display here on the walls and floors. The most notable pieces of artwork include Tulips by Jeff Koons and a variety of vases from the 18th century. There is also a towering replica of cinderella’s shoe with a Chinese dragon on the toe from artist Liao Yibai.

There are also lots of lovely Asian rugs and ancient lacquer screens on display as well. These pieces are in high traffic areas so make sure you keep your eyes peeled.

Cordish Art Collection
This time we venture away from Las Vegas to Hanover in Maryland. Suzi Cordish of Cordish Companies has taken the lead on this project and has filled this casino and hotel with lots of famous artwork by the likes of Charlie Ahn, Andy Warhol, Jennifer Steinkamp, Not Vital and Nick Cave amongst other famous artists.

Cordish is also a member of the National Board of the Smithsonian Institution and is President of the Board of Creative Capital Foundation, was really excited to bring art to the casino which is operated in partnership with her husband. She wanted to have an exhibit designed for the guests of the hotel so that they can combine a fun experience with exceptional artwork.

International Hotel Casino Property
The only casino in the list not to be in the USA, this casino is based in Golden Sands Bulgaria. There are so many famous art museums in Bulgaria but two collections are found in this fantastic casino hotel.

In this building, you will find Graffit Gallery, which has an impressive collection of contemporary art. The exhibits here will include the hottest trends in the art world including a high degree of technology to exhibit modern philosophies and feelings. You will find some incredible photographs, paintings and sculptures that push the boundaries of conventional artistry.
