Paintings: the art that furnishes the home - But how to choose them?

Among the various furnishing accessories that can be used, the paintings give a touch of warmth and personality to the entire apartment. But how to choose the painting that suits us best? How to choose the paintings that suit our furnishing style? Here are some tips on how to make this choice.

Round or rectangular, small or large: the paintings decorate every room with color. It is very important to place paintings to furnish your home: they allow you to enhance the furnishings of the home.

In addition to decorating the rooms, the paintings speak of us: they express our feelings, emotions and passions; in short, they give character and personality to the rooms.

Realism, impressionism, abstractionism, pop art, cubism, are just some of the dozens of pictorial and artistic styles that have followed one another over time. So in such a vast ocean of beauty it could be difficult to choose which painting to use to decorate the house.

So, how to choose the paintings to decorate your apartment? How to position the chosen paintings within the various rooms? How to install them on the wall?

Well to all these questions we will try to give an exhaustive answer. We will try to make this process as easy as possible for you through our useful and practical advice in order to choose original art for sale and change the style of your house.

The choice of the most suitable framework
When furnishing an environment, the bulk of the effort is fundamentally concentrated on the organization of spaces, on the choice and arrangement of furnishing accessories, on the positioning of the lights and finally on the choice of curtains.

At the end of the work, when floors and walls already fully perform their function and the whole is pleasant in itself, we can dedicate ourselves to coordinating the furniture with the elements that will integrate and embellish the walls, such as paintings and various wall decorations, that can give that right touch of style to our home, satisfying the gaze of the beholder.

To give life to bare walls, the most effective choice in terms of aesthetic impact, quality and durability over time, is certainly the placement of paintings with a figurative or abstract subject, following personal taste trends and the general style of our furniture.

Each piece of furniture, whether it is furniture, sofa, fireplace, servant or other, represents a focal point of reference for the interior environment; on these elements normally paintings are to be placed which preferably alone or possibly in groups, complete the composition.

The choice of the frame is crucial, both for the enhancement of the individual painting and because it creates an osmosis between the pictorial representation and the surrounding space. If the paintings are arranged in succession on the same wall, it is good that they have the same frame.

Style
The choice of the painting must be made on the basis of the colors and style of the same, but you can make an exception to the rule as regards the choice of the frame.

Strongly classic paintings with gold and silver frames are not suitable in environments that are furnished in a modern or high tech style.

In this case it is advisable to opt for paintings with modern lines and designs. For an urban or industrial style home, expressionist, pop art or cubist paintings will be perfect. For a modern style home, impressionist paintings could be perfectly inserted.

If the house is furnished in a strongly classic style, you must choose small and large canvases surrounded by stylish frames. In the case of small canvases, an alternation of period prints is preferable, together with silver bas-reliefs.

You have to choose the same or very similar frames to harmonize the different elements. In order not to make mistakes in combining small paintings, you must choose canvases or bas-reliefs made in the same way.

There are paintings on the market that depict glimpses of landscapes, still lifes, birds, butterflies, hunting scenes, zodiac signs and other classic subjects that are suitable for this purpose.

In short, the fundamental thing is to choose the paintings based on the style of home furnishings, even trying in some cases to exceed a little in the combinations.

Colors
The choice of paintings must be made based on the colors of the furniture and walls. If you decide to create a sober environment, it is preferable to use modern paintings in neutral colors. If, on the other hand, you want to give a touch of color, you have to choose bright and lively colors.

The dimension
Normally the paintings have different shapes and sizes between them; Well, in this case it is better to use the larger one as a reference point for the others, in order to allow harmonious positioning both in vertical and horizontal compositions.

When an important and large picture is chosen, it must be placed alone on the wall. In this way its peculiarities will be enhanced even more.

The installation on the walls
Anyone who thinks that nails and a hammer are enough to fix the paintings has no idea exactly what needs to be done. In some situations you need dowels, in others an adhesive strip is enough, in still others spring bolts are essential.

First of all, you have to take into account the weight of the painting and the wall you are working on. Then, you need to take the measurements and be sure of the position of the nail on the wall and then pay attention to the frame.

In order to be hung, the frame must have a special hook, which is called a hanger, whose position depends on the size and weight of the picture to hang.

If the picture is not too heavy, the hanger should be placed exactly in the center of the upper part of the frame, so that the picture does not hang from one of the sides.

If the weight of the painting is significant or is in any case very bulky, a single hanger will not be enough. It is therefore better to apply two of them, both on the upper side of the frame.

Conclusions
In conclusion, it can be said that the rule is to respect the style of the furniture, paying attention to the colors used.

You can also create color contrasts, but the latter is more difficult for those people who are not familiar with the use of color and its complementaries. Taste is something subjective; it is advisable to always choose the style and design of the painting that you like best.

Those who decorate their homes with paintings are passionate about art, of everything that represents the quintessence of beauty, style and taste. Surround yourself with art and you will convey your personality to your guests without even needing to speak.
