Free Retratos Lecture Examines "The Face of a Nation" |

SAN DIEGO, CA.- This Sunday, May 22, visitors to Retratos: 2,000 Years of Latin American Portraits are invited to a free lecture by Dr. Stacie Widdifield, titled “The Face of a Nation: Portraits, History, and Still Lives in 19th-Century Mexico.” A professor of art history at the University of Arizona, Dr. Widdifield is a widely published specialist on 19th-century Mexican art and has authored the book The Embodiment of the National in Late Nineteenth-Century Mexican Painting. The lecture, which is sponsored by the SDMA Latin American Arts Committee, takes place in the Museum’s auditorium at 3:00 p.m. and is free with admission.
