SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- Turner Auctions + Appraisals will present a Holiday Auction on Saturday, December 11, 2021, featuring Fine and Decorative Art, Asian, Silver & Jewelry. Offering 320 lots from estates and consignors, the auction showcases an inviting selection of items ideal for holiday gift-giving – or special treasures to enjoy oneself!

Fine art in a variety of media include works from the 18th-20th centuries, mostly from Europe and America. Among the noted artists are Ira Yeager, Thomas Hill, Julian Rix, Erté, Umberto Levi, Samuel Bak, Dan Namingha, George Rodrigue, Janice Biala, and Mark Adams. Asian pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries include cloisonné and hardstone, censers, storage jars, lacquer platters, bowls and dishes, a rock crystal figure, a carved box, and Satsuma and Imari pieces. In addition to several distinctive lots of Russian silver, there are a sterling silver tea service, goblets, tableware, and flatware. A diverse selection of bronze commemorative medals is also on offer.

The auction also features an eclectic selection of decorative arts: wall sconces, architectural panels, a brass lantern clock, rock crystal balls on stands, a mother-of-pearl bowl and cribbage box, Boehm porcelain plaques, an Aubusson floral tapestry, an Italian neoclassical pier mirror, several maps from the Planisphaerium Ptolemaicum series, an antique cased ship model of the “Flying Cloud,” an amethyst jardinière, a Leica M3 camera plus and lens and accessories, glass vases by noted makers, Lalique items, collections of perfume bottles, groupings of tobacco felts, vintage postcards and more. Besides porcelain plates and dinnerware, there are a variety of porcelain or ceramic figures made by Cybis, Belleek, Dresden, Rosenthal, Royal Copenhagen, Goldscheider, Lladro and Lomonosov. Among several furniture items are an escritoire; and tea, console, and center tables.

Jewelry offerings include necklaces, bracelets, rings, pendants, and brooches – most of 14k or 18k gold and set with gemstones such as diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, jade, pearls, crystal, blue topaz, lapis lazuli, amber, and/or onyx. Noted luxury brands in the sale include Buccellati, Tiffany, Chanel, David Yurman, Hermès, Van Cleef & Arpels, Manfredi, Dinh Van, Misani, and Michael Dawkins. For men there are a Tiffany pocket watch and several wristwatches. Completing the sale are a Louis Vuitton clutch and bag.

Turner Auctions + Appraisals begins its online auction on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 10:30 am PST; sale items are available for preview and bidding now. Lot 15: Artist: Julian Rix (1850-1903). Medium: Oil on Canvas. Title: Untitled (Forest creek landscape). Size: 42" x 32"; 56 1/2" x 46 3/8" (frame). Signature: "Julian Rix" lower left. Condition: Good. In an ornate gilt-molded, oversized frame. Estimate $7,000-$9,000.

Lot 73: Pair of French Rock Crystal Balls on Footed Mounts, 19th century. Set on wood and brass ormolu stands decorated with red scrolling floral boulle work. Size: 17" approx. circumference; 8 3/4"H x 6 5/8" W x 5 5/8" D. In good condition. Estimate $2,000-$3,000.




Lot 213: Russian Enamel Silver Desk Set. An early 20th-century seven-piece desk set covered with floral patterns. Russian Hallmarks. Size: Inkstand with pen holders. (Largest example) 6" x 13.5" x 8.25." Overall condition good. Estimate $4,000-$5,000.

Lot 258: Buccellati Diamond And 18k Bi-Color Gold Ring. Bezel-set with
8 round brilliant-cut diamonds in textured white gold, weighing 0.40ct., G-H/VS, in textured yellow gold; signed Gianmaria Buccellati Italy; weighing 4.4 grams; width: 7.0mm; size: 4. Very good condition. Estimate $1,000-$1,500.

Condition: Craquelure; one small area of flaking. Period gilt frame, some plaster loss. Estimate $15,000-$20,000.

Lot 187: Large Chinese Hinged-Lid Storage Jar, Late-18th/Early-19th Century. The lid is attached to the rim of the jar with a metal band and hardware, which includes a clasp. Dark blue glaze with gilt decoration of pagoda mountain landscape scenes. White glazed interior. Size: approx. 24" H x 14" W. Overall condition is good; the metal hinge is loose/partially detached; wear to gilt. Estimate $500-$700.

Lot 217: Wilson & Gill Sterling Tea Service. Comprising a tea, coffee and chocolate pot, cream, sugar and waste bowls and hot water kettle on stand. Date Mark Sheffield, 1910. Inscribed on bottom Wilson & Gill 139 Regent St. London. Greatest height 15”. 3978 grams (approx.). Condition: Minor tarnish overall. Minor dents. Estimate $2,500-$3,000.
