NEW YORK, NY.- Phillips announced the appointment of Lauren Peterson as Regional Director, Chicago-Midwest. In this role, Ms. Peterson will partner with Phillips’ specialists across all departmental categories to support the auction house’s growing business development efforts in the Americas.

Ms. Peterson joined Phillips as Regional Representative in Chicago in 2017 and was promoted to Director of Museum & Corporate Collections in 2021. During her tenure, she facilitated Phillips’ support of such important exhibitions as Christina Quarles at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Surrealism Beyond Borders at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Scandinavian Design and the United States, 1890-1980 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Philip Guston Now and Georgia O’Keeffe, Photographer at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and Edward Hopper’s New York at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Prior to joining Phillips, Ms. Peterson worked for 11 years in Christie’s Midwest Regional office.

“Lauren has proven to be an invaluable member of the Phillips team,” said Vivian Pfeiffer, Deputy Chairman, Americas, and Head of Business Development. “After more than fifteen years in the industry, she has been instrumental in developing relationships with clients across the private, institutional, and Trusts and Estates spheres in the Midwest region, bringing a wealth of experience to her new position. Growing Phillips’ presence across the Americas is a priority for the company and Lauren will play an important role in our efforts here.”

Having joined the company in 2021, Clinée Hedspeth, Phillips’ Regional Representative, Chicago-Midwest, will work closely with Ms. Peterson in her new role. Prior to joining Phillips, Ms. Hedspeth worked for the Father Divine Library & Museum of Gladwyne, PA, Chicago’s DuSable Museum of African American History, and in her own firm, Hedspeth Art Consulting, LLC.

2022 marked a significant year for Phillips’ expansion in the Americas, most notably with the company’s opening of Phillips Los Angeles, the auction house’s first brick and mortar location in the region outside of New York. Joyce Goss was also appointed Regional Director, Texas, the company’s first hire in the state, joining the robust team of specialists and representatives already in place across North and South America.
