The Israeli Duo that Changes the Face of the Music Scene

Brilliantly immersive from the outset, vocally pristine and captivating, – lomipo’s Snow White raises the bar brilliantly in the Israeli modern pop scene. Introducing an act with equal parts delicacy and weight about their creative expression, their many songs follow the familiar set-up of subtle beats and quietness, through to warm bass and hard hitting drums for the choruses . As such, the structure keeps on giving the power of juxtaposition – the second verse in particular hits with an immediately uplifting rap verse, another contrast made with the smoothe vocal of the previous verse.

Lyrically interesting on top of its surface-level qualities, the depth and vulnerability of both the writing and the leading performance helps elevate the otherwise recognisable trap pop arrangement. Fearlessly gritty, melodically enchanting, all the more powerful as a hit of escapism when listened to at volume – faultless sound-design from lomipo, who are also renowned producers, really lets the natural qualities of the songs shine brightly in any setting. Their attention to detail and fine balance between precision and passion ultimately delivers a naturally engaging first listen – the best we have heard from Israel so far this year, and something that will no doubt set most listeners off on a search for live shows (or for their many TV features).

Great music, in short – addictive summer tune with a welcomed twist of integrity and character. I look forward to hearing more.
