LONDON.- The British Museum and Dubai Holding present the exhibit Word into Art: Artists of the Modern Middle East. Word into Art, an exhibition based largely on the collection of the British Museum, demonstrates the powerful and imaginative ways in which artists across the Middle East and North Africa are using the Arabic script today. There will be beautiful Arabic calligraphies, books of poetry and works which reflect current political issues of the Middle East. The exhibition will be a part of a season of activity on the Middle East in partnership with Dubai Holding. In conjunction with this exhibit, another one titled Middle East Now season. Experience the vibrancy, richness and complexity of the cultures of the modern Middle East through art, music, film, performance and public debate. All set with the context of the British Museum's displays of some of the greatest achievements of the historic cultures of the region. This unique season complements the exhibition Word into Art: Artists of the Modern Middle East.
