The Hogan Collection on View at Mississippi Museum |

OCEAN SPRINGS.- The Walter Anderson Museum of Art presents the exhibit Shearwater Masterpieces: The Hogan Collection on view until September 5, 2006. The unique output of shearwater Pottery over the past 77 years is noteworthy in its endurance and beauty, and has attracted many collectors. These groups of objects often take on a life of their own by reflecting the taste and tenacity of the collector. However, some of the most noteworthy work to come on the market in the past few years has come to the Museum for the public to see and enjoy. A generous quirk of Hurricane Katrina left the pieces intact. One can relive the eye and brush of Walter Anderson on the graceful forms of Peter Anderson. Those works are joined by the work of decorators Patricia Findeisen and Chris Stebly on shapes by James Anderson - all in the family and still producing.
