Guyanese Art to be Shown in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Inter-American Development Bank presents the exhibit The Arts of Guyana: A Multicultural Caribbean Adventure starting June 1st. The exhibit pays tribute to Guyanase artists living and working in Guyana, in celebration of Caribbean American Heritage Month. The artworks include objects by the Amerindian population, painting, and sculpture representing contemporary artists drawn from several private and public collections, such as the Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology, the National Gallery of Art of Guyana - Castellani House, the Museum of African Heritage, the Roots and Culture Gallery, the Burrowes School of Art, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Guyana, and individual artists such as Winston Strick, who is featured with leather sculptures and objects.
