NORWICH, UK.- The Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery will feature Waterlog, A new touring exhibition from Film and Video Umbrella, on view 3 Feb – 15 April 2007. Waterlog is an ambitious, large-scale, multi-platform project which has been conceived and developed by Film and Video Umbrella (FVU), with the collaboration of Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery; The Collection, Lincoln; and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, University of East Anglia. Featuring new commissions from a roster of internationally acclaimed artists, ‘Waterlog’ launches at the beginning of February at venues in Norwich, and will tour to Lincoln later in the year.

Waterlog is the latest in a series of projects developed by FVU with partners in the East of England, and focuses on the region’s water-drenched landscapes and their place in the writing of the German-born writer W.G. Sebald, in particular his work ‘The Rings of Saturn’. Using Sebald’s distinctive story-telling style as its inspiration, FVU have commissioned seven artists to make their own imaginative forays across the region. By producing moving-image, photographic or digital works, the artists will connect the two locations with a number of actual and virtual journeys.
