Jersey City Museum and The Media Arts Department of NJCU Present The URBAN IMAGE Media Collective: Open Call

JERSEY CITY, NJ.-Jersey City Museum is proud to host The URBAN IMAGE Media Collective: Open Call, a new showcase of expressive, diverse and independent film, video and digital media produced by accomplished students and alumni of the Media Arts Department of New Jersey City University. The Collective’s mission is to curate and exhibit work which possesses artistic vitality and explores the expressive potential of the medium. Curated by New Jersey City University professor of Media Arts, Jane Steuerwald, the works chosen are an eclectic mix of documentary, satire, personal narrative, experimental mixed-media, and animation.

An experimental filmmaker herself, Steuerwald has taught media production for twenty-five years at New Jersey City University. The diverse range of New Jersey artists whose works will be screened in the museum’s 152-seat theater include Christina Conti, Nedelka Douglas, Maria Espinosa and Martha Sandoval. For more information on URBAN IMAGE and the artists involved, visit www.urbanimageshowcase.org.
