BOSTON, MA.- The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston will receive a $300,000 grant from the Boston Foundation in support of the museum’s general operations. The multi-year grant helps ensure the ICA’s ability to provide high-quality exhibitions, performances, and educational programs to the public on a sustained basis.

“We are very grateful to have been selected for this important award from the Boston Foundation,” says Jill Medvedow, Director of the ICA. “These funds support our mission to provide inspiration, education, and build a creative community through public access to contemporary arts and artists.”

The grant to the ICA reflects the Boston Foundation’s commitment to strengthen and celebrate the region’s diverse audiences, artists and nonprofit cultural organizations.

The Boston Foundation, Greater Boston's community foundation, is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the nation, with assets of $682 million. In Fiscal Year 2009, the Foundation and its donors made over $95 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and received gifts of over $81 million.
