HONG KONG.- Dedicated to the pursuit of the finest things in life, Christie’s will unveil the world of handbags and accessories for the first time ever at auction in Asia. International connoisseurs of style and craftsmanship will be able to bid for some of the most sought-after designs from renowned brands.

“As Asia’s growing demand for quality luxury accessories continues to lean towards increasing sophistication and superlative craftsmanship, we are thrilled to introduce a new platform for auctions and private sales for this very promising category,” said Matthew Rubinger, specialist in charge of the sale.

Building on the success of Christie’s Handbags & Accessories online-only auctions, the team will be working with top clients and collectors through the end of September to build this important, ground-breaking sale. Curated into the auction will be signature pieces from Bottega Veneta, Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and other designers.

“Asian art collectors have always appreciated the craftsmanship and aesthetics of the fine leather goods created by top European houses, so we have decided to organize sales of rare and limited edition accessories in Hong Kong. They will take place regularly at our salesroom at Alexandra House and at our auctions at the Convention Centre,” said Rebecca Wei, President of Christie’s Asia (excluding China).

Christie’s Handbags & Accessories auction will take place on 24th November 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, as part of Christie’s Hong Kong autumn auctions week.
