Top Art Exhibitions in Africa 2018
While there were several art exhibitions in the first half of 2018, there are many more coming in the second half of the year.

A trip to Africa will not disappoint this year for art lovers. While there were several art exhibitions in the first half of 2018, there are many more coming in the second half of the year. These upcoming art exhibitions are a must for all art lovers and if you find yourself short on travelling funds, do yourself a favour and visit any casino online so that you earn some money to travel to Africa. Here is what to expect when you land in Africa. Note that all of these art exhibitions are scheduled to take place in South Africa.

National Arts Festival
The National Arts Festival is a festival which runs for close to three weeks starting from late June up to mid-July. The festival showcases different forms of artworks. Artists who exhibit their work at the National Arts Festival are drawn from across the African continent. Each year, one talented artist showcases his/her work in the Visual Artist of the Year Exhibition (this is the highlight event). This year’s edition will see Igshaan Adams exhibiting his work. Other exhibitions at the National Arts Festival will showcase comedy, dance, and theatre.

WhatIfTheWorld
WhatIfTheWorld is a relatively new art festival founded by artists who exhibit their work throughout the year. Running throughout the year, different artists afford each other a month or so in which they showcase their work in Cape Town. In the first half of 2018, Rowan Smith and Dan Holter showcased their pieces of work and the second half of the year will see AthiPatra-Ruga and Buhlebezwe Siwani also exhibiting.

Smith Studio
Smith Studio is a gallery in Cape Town. The gallery which opened its doors a few years back regularly conducts art exhibitions. Some of the exhibitions are solo exhibitions while others feature a number of artists all exhibiting their work at the same time. Earlier on this year, Smith Studio saw Rosie Mudge and Banele Khoza showcase their work and later on this year in November Jeanne Gaigher will also be exhibiting her work at Smith Studio.

FNB Joburg Art Fair
The 2018 FNB Joburg Art Fair is going to be hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre and it’s going to run from the 6th to the 9th of September. The fair is in its 11th year running. Celebrating contemporary art, the 2018 edition will feature work from the following galleries in South Africa; Goodman Galleries, Lizamore & Associates, Blank Projects, and Barnand Gallery among others. From across Africa, the fair will feature work from the following; Addis Fine Art, Arte de Gema, BLOOM Art, First Floor Gallery, Red Door Gallery, and This is Not a White Cube among others. Internationally, the fair will feature work from Art First from London.

Goodman Gallery
Goodman Gallery is from Cape Town and every year, it hosts different exhibitions of different artists. 2018 is going by the same trend, already in the first half of the year artists including Kudzanai Chiurai have showcased their work and in the second half of the year, other artists including Alfredo Jaar, Sam Nhlengethwa, William Kentridge, Yinka Shonibare, Peter Magubane and David Goldblatt will have their own exhibitions.
