Want to learn more? Keep reading to find out.

Explore Belize City
If you're heading out on a cruise to Belize, you'll want to explore the city. The water is shallow near the harbor so most ships must anchor a few miles away. You can get to the port within twenty minutes on a speedy boat.

Once at the port, you can explore the tourist village. There are popular shopping sites to visit, along with bars and restaurants.

Check out some tourist attractions while in the city. Visit the Baron Bliss Lighthouse. The oldest Anglican church in Central America is in Belize City. This church's called St. John's Cathedral.

If you like to visit museums, check out the Museum of Belize. Learn about the history of the Mayans through the drawings and artifacts featured.

Visit Mayan Ruin Sites
Belize has the most discovered Mayan ruins. You can explore forests, villages, and towns like Lamanai, Cerros, and Caracol.

Popular sites include Xunantunich and Altun Ha. Local tour operators will take you on a day trip to explore these spots.

Go on an ATV Excursion
If you love adventure, consider an outing through the jungle on an ATV. You'll get to race down muddy roads while controlling the ATV. After this trip, go out for a national dish of rice with beans and fried chicken.

Go Horseback Riding
You cannot explore parts of Belize on vehicles or boats. Book this excursion and go on a horseback ride through the jungle. Enjoy seeing hundreds of flora and fauna on this trip.

You can check out howler monkeys and parrots. You might even see green iguanas, tapirs, and crocodiles in the Belize River.

Tour the Wetlands by Airboat
This is an excellent excursion for people who love to take photos. It is a more laid-back outing compared to the other activities.

You take a guided bus tour of the town before heading to the airboat. The airboat goes down the waterway leading to Almond Hill Lagoon.

You can photograph manatees and sea turtles. Have fun taking in the sights on this relaxing trip. When you return, you can have a meal before heading back to the city.

Cruise to Belize and Visit the Beach
Some cruises organize an outing to a private resort. Once you arrive at the resort, you can enjoy the beach. Try out some water sports like kayaking, diving or snorkeling. If you'd rather relax, pack a book or music and sunbathe.

Create a list of places you'd like to explore while in Belize. See the sights on some shore excursions.
