10th International Printmaking Exhibition of Cremona announces exhibitions

CREMONA.- Near the Cultural Center of “Santa Maria della Pietà” of Cremona, Italy, from September 22nd to October 29th 2019, will be held the 10th International Printmaking Exhibition of Cremona. The Biennial, exclusively to invitation, curated by Vladimiro Elvieri, assisted by an International Scientific Committee, is organized by the Incisione Senza Confini Association with the collaboration, the patronage, and the financial support of the Municipality of Cremona, with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the patronage and collaboration of AIE (Italian Ex-libris Association) and the contributions of private institutions.

Exhibitions:

1 RARE EDITIONS (MASTERS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY)
A historical section that presents fine artist books with original engravings printed, for the most part, at the famous Lacourière-Frélaut atelier, Paris, realized by some of the greatest exponents of the modern art : Juan Mirò, Pablo Picasso, Geoges Braque, André Masson, Zao Wou-Ki, Bernard Buffet, Olivier Debré, Jean-Luc Herman, Renzo Margonari), coming from important private collections (Mrs Denise Frélaut, Paris and Michelle Champetier Gallery, Cannes).

2 NEW LANDINGS Reserved to the most important Italian and foreign contemporary artists who are distinguished for the quality of their art graphics research. Forty-seven works of medium and large format, that constitute a small but significant panorama of the trends and research in contemporary printmaking.

3 ITALIAN PRINTMAKING UNDER 35 The Exhibition presents forty prints created with traditional and innovative techniques of printmaking, by twenty of the most interesting young emerging artists from various Italian regions, invited by a special commission.

4 EX-LIBRIS 500th Leonardo da Vinci A significant collection of ex-libris and small graphic of Italian and foreign authors, dedicated to the figure and work of one of the greatest geniuses of the Renaissance, on the 500th anniversary of his death (1519-2019). Exhibition in collaboration with the AIE – Associazione Italiana Ex libris.

An educational workshop will be active in the same center, and will be open to visitors and school groups (by appointment) with theoretical and practical lessons on the printmaking techniques.
