BERLIN.- HAUNT, a center for contemporary art and culture in Berlin-Tiergarten, has opened "It’s the 21st Century that Expects Everything from You," an exhibition presented by the Art’Us Collectors’ Collective. The show, which opened on March 1st and runs through March 29th, 2025, features a diverse selection of photographic works that delve into the complexities of contemporary society.

Curated by Christin Müller, the exhibition brings together works from 23 artists, including Viktoria Binschtok, Elina Brotherus, and Rosemarie Trockel, among others. The artists' works collectively address the pressing issues of our time, such as digitalization, climate change, and social and political conflicts, examining how these forces shape our lives and environments.

The exhibition aims to create a space for reflection on the multifaceted challenges facing individuals and societies in the 21st century. Through various photographic techniques, from analog processes like cyanotypes and Polaroids to digital photorealistic drawings, the artists explore themes of transience, transformation, and identity.

A key aspect of the exhibition is its exploration of how urban and rural spaces are evolving, as well as how individuals navigate their roles within an increasingly complex world. The exhibition layout is designed to guide visitors through a shift in perspective, moving from an examination of external environments to a focus on the human body and back again.

The exhibition's title is inspired by a work by artist Paul Hutchinson, which itself references a speech by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Marquez's call for "young dreamers" to address societal inequalities remains relevant today, underscoring the exhibition's focus on the ongoing challenges of shaping a rapidly changing world.

The Art’Us Collectors’ Collective, a non-profit association of private collectors, initiated the exhibition as part of the European Month of Photography Berlin 2025. The collective aims to foster a vibrant exhibition and educational culture, emphasizing the importance of private engagement in the arts.

HAUNT, the venue hosting the exhibition, is operated by a collective of artists and theorists dedicated to promoting dialogue around contemporary art. The exhibition is currently offering visitors a thought-provoking experience, encouraging them to reconsider their perspectives on contemporary life. Public events, including artist talks and discussions, are scheduled throughout the exhibition's remaining run.
