GLEN COVE, NY.- The much talked about very rare Important Pair of Sevres Palace Urns took center stage at
Roland Auctions NY Multi-Estates auction on Saturday, March 8th, selling for a whopping $240,000 to a long-standing Roland customer in France, bringing the urns back home again.
This monumental pair of Sevres porcelain palace urns, French, 19th century, featured vasiform elaborated decorated with bands of blooming flowers, Greek key and acanthus details, and large swags of ripe fruit and blooming flowers, centered by bronze dore figure heads Baccchus, all resting on square gilded plinth, [32.5" H x 17.25" W x 14.75" D]. A Similar pair similar pair sold at Bonhams in December 2023.
Rolands auction had offerings from several prominent and noteworthy estates, bringing together elements of New York Citys theatrical and art world past, with other top sellers being in Decorative Arts and Fine Art.

[12" H x 8.25" W x 4.5"], which went for $16,900 and a pair of Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Monkey Candlesticks, Ubaldo Vitali for Tiffany & Co. pair of sterling silver singerie figural candlesticks of monkey butlers with tray, designed 1976, total 54 ozt. marks to base [6" H x 4" W x 4.5" D], sold for $5,525.
